At a glance

  • Stir, chop, mix, puree or liquify. Pulse mode works with all speeds for staggered blending, while the crush ice feature pulses at precise intervals for optimal ice crushing results.
  • The Soft Start Feature starts the motor at a slower speed to pull food into the blade then quickly increases to the selected speed setting.
  • Steel-Reinforced Coupler provides direct, efficient power transfer from the motor directly to the blade for robust blending. The coupler is coated for quiet operation.

Actual User Experience

“I researched blenders like I was buying a car – read the best blender food processor reviews, looked at different sites, researched details for months.

This one had very good reviews, so even though I really wanted a glass pitcher, I purchased this KitchenAid because it was BPA free and it sounded like a well made appliance.

We have used it a dozen times now and are very impressed. It mixes extremely well and blends frozen fruit and ice easily. The base is heavy duty and you can tell it will last and has some power.

Another plus is there are no parts to take apart and wash – lessening the chance of bacteria growth. The blade is in the pitcher and the bottom is not removable. No O ring or extra pieces.

In addition, very easy to clean and a heavy duty plastic pitcher that will hopefully hold up. I would definitely recommend this product if you are in the market for a new blender.“– Best blender food processor reviews contributor: L. N. Meleshko

Actual User Experience

“We got this several months ago and have used consistently it for at least two smoothies per day. Ingredients range from really tough (ice) to leafy and insubstantial (kale). Of course a plethora of fruit as well, and it blends it all down to tiny, consistent pieces within seconds. I think ten seconds on this blender with the small cup is overkill. It is very fast and very strong. Flavor is important to me, so if I could taste or had to chew on the kale, I wouldn’t include it.

Before this, I had the Bella Cucina (a knock off of the magic bullet). I loved it until its untimely death but the contrast in quality is stark. The cups are much thicker and clearer, their lids taller and more useful, and they are worlds apart on their blending capabilities. Every piece in this thing just feels like great quality and makes the Bella cucina look worse than ever by comparison.

I LOVE having the option of the large pitcher or two two smaller cups. I wanted another small-cup blender like the magic bullet but also need a bigger one occasionally, and who has room for two appliances that do the same thing? The fact that every piece is dishwasher safe is a huge bonus and a must for me. The instructions say “top rack preferred” but the huge large blender cup is way too tall for the top rack.

I just wish there were more cup attachments/cup blades sold separately. As of now (late 2012/early 2013), they’re not. This comes with two cups but only one blade that fits the cups. That’s certainly not enough for me to knock down a star, though.

We fill the cups with the ingredients the night before, then fill them up with juice in the morning, blend. .This way, we each have a healthy breakfast in under ten seconds. We both have experienced a lasting energy boost from the smoothies.

Update: I’ve now had this blender for six months and I can’t imagine living without it. Actually, I’m pretty sure I’d be on my way to an early grave without it. This thing is a godsend, and so is kale. After discussing superfoods with a knowledgeable Whole Foods employee, I started adding acai berry powder, chia seeds/psyllium husk, wheatgrass, and some protein powder. This is the perfect way to get a huge portion of your daily nutrients, antioxidants, and cancer-fighting goodness in a delicious smoothie. I feel better than I have since I was a kid!

Tips for green smoothies: with this ninja, the kale is easy chopped into such tiny pieces you really won’t taste it. However, if adding other greens with a stronger flavor, a bit of green apple/green apple juice or a whole kiwi will wipe that flavor right out. Orange juice also helps a lot if you use it as your base. I’ve found the best, though, to be a very ripe banana.“– Best blender food processor reviews contributor: Tori

Actual User Experience

“Decided to try this blender based on other best blender food processor reviews. I was looking for something sturdy and powerful to give me the most flexibility in what I use it for.

This blender was a bit more expensive than the Oster blenders I considered, and worth every single penny. The base is very heavy and solid. The motor (at least so far) is also pretty powerful. It went through large frozen strawberries (on the pulse setting) with just a few pulses. It completely crushed and mixed my frozen strawberry/blueberry/silken tofu/orange juice/yogurt smoothie in less than 30 seconds.

The pitcher is plastic, but not brittle or flimsy. I was skeptical of plastic pitchers at first, but I am very happy with this one.

The blade assembly is incorporated into the pitcher, so this actually makes cleaning it super easy–fill the pitcher about 2/3 with warm water, a couple of drops of dish soap, and blend it!

The lid on the pitcher fits quite tightly, which is a good thing in my mind.

The only downside (someone else mentioned this) is that, with the pitcher placed on top of the motor, it’s a tad too tall to fit under the cabinet. I couldn’t care less. It stays on my counter with the pitcher next to it.

LOVE THIS BLENDER.“– Best blender food processor reviews contributor: Lynda M.

Actual User Experience

“Bought this blender 5 years ago and because it comes with a built-in counter of blend cycles, my family and I have used the machine exactly 1267 times. I just now called Blendtec because the blade in the jar has finally become loose and is causing loud, inefficient blends, needs to be replaced. The whole blender, apparently including the jar, is warranted for 7 years.

Blendtec is sending me a new jar at no cost, didn’t have to show any proof of the problem or return the worn jar or anything. The customer service rep even seemed concerned that there wasn’t anything else wrong with the blender that might need replacing/repairing, because she had me run the blender through a cycle without the jar to make sure the motor was running smoothly. It was. Great customer service!!

About the blender itself; it’s flawless! We use it for everything from smoothies, to whole fruit/vegetable juices, to margaritas, to making fresh peanut and other nut butters, to grinding grain into flour, to salsas, in addition to anything else one would use a blender, ice crusher, smoothie maker, grinder, food processor for.

The smoothies come out perfect, everything does. You know, store bought peanut butter has additives that aren’t necessary, such as palm oil (to make it thick and not oily – more solidified), salt, preservatives. And just like everything else you make with the blender, you know exactly what’s in the smoothies, etc. So you can eat as healthy as you want.

Granted the cost of this blender is high, but you really do get what you pay for. After going through about 5-6 “traditional” (for lack of a better word) household blenders and other devices (I actually bought a blender specifically designed for making only smoothies – what a waste of money) including Oster, GE, etc over the years, which all lacked the power to do anything other than mixing (blending?)liquids, I finally decided it might be worth it to fork over the cash for something that might be able to do what I needed – quick, well blended, “smooth” smoothies any way I want ’em, and the ultimate frozen margaritas. This blender does way more. Just like the u-tube commercials show, this thing will literally “blend” anything. Highly recommend it!!”– Best blender food processor reviews contributor: Samssisters

Actual User Experience

“This blender is so powerful and amazing! I am so happy that I ordered it. It’s very sturdy but it is very large. It barely fits under my counter but I’m not complaining.

If you want a powerful blender this is the one to buy. It has everything with it including the cups for my protein drinks every morning. It blends the fruit nicely.

I had a Nutribullet for about three years and it never blended the fruits and vegetables like this one does. It always left chunks at the bottom. I bought this because my Nutribullet started acting up. When I tried to blend my drinks it would spill out all over the place while blending so I decided it was time to buy something better.

In reality, I should’ve bought this one in the first place!”– Best blender food processor reviews contributor: JM.
